The Vow That Twisted Fate Mood Boards: Maedra And Maevric

With launch day only 5 days away, I want to share a couple The Vow That Twisted Fate mood boards: Maedra and Maevric!

The Sorceress, Maedra, is a woman of strong passion and compassion gone horribly wrong.

'The Underworld's Champion', as she was called before the Two Queen's War turned against her own kind (Humanity), once had a heart for all the undesirable beings in her world.

When the Human council tossed aside her pleas to treat all beings equally, she decided to put her foot down, hard. She would wipe the undeserving Humans off the map.

After 500 years in an evil dimension, though, by the time The Vow That Twisted Fate takes place Maedra's wrath has turned to a madness that she uses against the very beings who would have once made her queen. Even her lover, Seir, is turned into a Shade to suit her new needs--returning to her original world and dominating anything that survives.

Maevric Stormbender was the Dwarven crown prince during the Two Queens War, which takes place 500 years before The Vow That Twisted Fate.

As the leader of the Keep's Select (a legendary group of the most skilled warriors of his time), he served as the captain of Queen Valera's army.

It is that Vow which Arlena uses to call him forward in time 500 years to face the ancient enemy he was unable to kill during Valera's lifetime.

The Dwarves are the most religious and honourable of races, and Maevric exhibits those standards. He reveres the Dragons at the Fire Temple in the Keep, and he isn't afraid to stand for what he believes and call things as they are.

It is ultimately Maevric's harsh truths that awakens Arlena to the imperfections within herself, and forces her to face the darkness of her own soul.
