![]() If you're a chili lover (especially for things like chili dogs in the summer), here is a new writer fuel recipe: Four-Bean Vegetarian Chili! As always, let's skip the boring backstory and get straight to the good stuff... the food! This recipe is a slow-cooker recipe, but can be adapted to use on the stove in a pot on low heat. Ingredients: -1 can black beans, drained and rinsed -1 can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed -1 can 'hot chili beans' (pinto beans stewed in chili seasoning), drained but NOT rinsed -1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed -32 oz tomato sauce -1 can chili-ready tomatoes -1 package of you favorite chili seasoning mix Instructions: -Turn your slow cooker on high heat -Combine all ingredients and stir well -Allow to simmer for 4-6 hours on high heat, stirring about once an hour Serves best with jalapeno cornbread, or (if you eat dairy) sour cream and cheese. **Want more Writer Fuel Recipes?
